The Debater's Mantra

A meditation technique that gained much popularity in the west these past few years is a simple to learn and and simple to imply method whose main principle is a repetition of a mantra called “The Debater’s Mantra”. One of the great advantages of the method compared to other methods is that one doesn’t have to stop whatever he’s doing or sit in a special posture to practice it. In fact, repeating the debater’s mantra while doing an everyday activity only increases the capacity to concentrate on the mantra and dive in. The mantra is very simple and goes like this: “I really should start doing mediation. Yes, but I hate doing meditation. Yes, but I really should start doing meditating. Yes, but I hate doing meditation. Yes, but I really should start doing meditation…” and so forth. Unofficial estimates reveal that tens of millions of people in the west already practice this method regularly. Furthermore – instructors report that even those students who declared themselves as sworn enemies of mediation feel themselves at home with the method that took over the west.
