Pointing the Pistol

Pointing the Pistol

Something I understood on the conversation with Joel today was that if someone would come and stand behind me in the cafeteria, point a pistol to my head and demand that in half an hour I complete a short script for my graduation film the result wouldn’t necessarily be any less satisfactory than a script I would work on for half a year. The only point is that I have to find the motivation of the person to point the pistol to my head. What would be the conflict between us? What kind of a character is he? There also must be some development in the pointing of the pistol. Without development the person would stop pointing the pistol and go threaten some other lucky girl. I must not bore the pistol holder to death even if he is the offender. It’s not about action and special effects, it might even be a slow contemplative pistol threatening, but something must happen between the two of us, it’s clear. The question is what? Hmmm. I have to think about it a little more. I’ll bring a new draft after Passover.
