Not to Turn Off Your Cellphones

The performance of Bach’s Magnificat this morning in the Abu Gosh Vocal Music Festival excelled in pleasantness and celestial beauty thanks to the delightful conducting of Stanly Sperber and the accurate performance of the Chamber Choir of the Academy. If to point out the one single artistic choice that took the performance one level further up and introduced it into the pantheon of the greatest, it was definitely the Nokia Phone Ring at Et Sanctum Nomen Esum, a courageous interpretation that elaborated on the traditional role of the Cemballo and gave it a contemporary fresh voice, as well as the Retro Ringtone at the Fecit Potentiam, which functioned as an ancient music counterpoint that embellished for an ephemeral yet unforgettable moment the musical piece we all know and love so much. Hurray to dear Stanley, hurray to the young choir, rush to listen, dear listeners, and don’t forget to not-turn-off your cellphones!
