Marie Curie's Biography

I’ve been going to sleep these last few nights in the company of Marie Curie’s biography that was written by her daughter. The recognition that Pier and Marie Curie wouldn’t have devoted more than one minute to talk with me in the life of ceaseless work they chose for themselves doesn’t in any way diminish my pleasure from their fictitious company. I have now reached the part where, after isolating a decigram of Radium and determining its weight for the first time, Pier and Marie Curie return to the lab at night and discover to their great joy that the Radium is shining. This is the time to close the book, go to sleep and keep seeing in the dark between the eyelids one single shining point. The recognition that I wouldn’t have agreed to meet the Radium for more than a passing moment doesn’t manage to diminish my joy in Curie’s great joy.
