Charlie Chaplin’s Grave

Charlie Chaplin's Grave

Did you know? “A few months after Charlie Chaplin’s death his body was removed from the grave by people who planned to bargain on its return. A few weeks later, the mission was thwarted and Chaplin was reburied, this time under a thick concrete layer” (Hebrew Wikipedia). It’s simply a scene from a Charlie Chaplin film. The tramp works in an odd job as an undertaker. Thieves steal the body of the Politician he had buried. He finds the thieves, steals the body, buries it again and covers the body with a layer of concrete. The money he received for the job gets accidentally buried underneath. He breaks the concrete in order to rescue the money and gets so exhausted he falls asleep inside the grave. The thieves come once again at night and mistakenly take the tramp instead of the politician. The tramp wakes up in the trunk, escapes, passes while escaping through a cemetery and falls straight into an open grave.
