Knowing You're Cute: The Case of Toot

What is it to be “cute”? Is it about symmetry, or dimensions, or texture? Is it about control, or attitude, or inner contents? I think a part of being cute is the presence of awareness of being cute. It’s hard to differentiate between the two. Take Toot for example. There’s no doubt the dog knows he’s cute. How can he not know it when he hears it all day? So, knowing he’s cute, Toot feels kind of cutish, which makes extra natural cuteness radiate from him, which in return pushes people to give him more of that cuteness- targeted-attention, which, again, makes him a little cuter, and so the positive feedback loop goes on, till nothing but negligible amounts of cuteness can be added, and that’s mainly around the eyebrows.
